My Hair My Health PDX: Celebrating the Journey of our Village, Evolution and Rebirth.

 

About the event

We celebrated our 5th annual event and growing village, the official launch of our non-profit and the new logo/rebranding of the organization. The event also included the following:

  • Spoken word

  • Sisters sharing their inspirational journey

  • Dancing/movement

  • Education on hair & personal care products to promote health

  • How to cook a quick/simple/nutritious and delicious meal

  • Talks on:

    • Importance of being rooted in our culture & identity

    • Exploring our resilience and resistance as Black women in safe spaces and unsafe places

    • Entrepreneurship and discovering your unique gifts, passion and professional identify

  • Virtual door prizes and more!
